A New Rockin' Patio and A Tour

My very green-thumbed husband actually went along with my latest idea to expand our outdoor living area.  I suggested that we connect our vegetable garden area with our patio.  He said--"That's a good idea" and off we went.  I was shocked because it definitely involved a lot of back breaking work.  He's pretty awesome, though.  So instead of blogging, cooking, or cleaning the house this week---we did this.

Here is the area before, not bad--

Our vegetable gardens are connected to our patio via a few pieces of flagstone.  We really liked how the flagstone looked and decided that it may be a good idea to add a few more pieces, so we went here--

A little over 2,000 pounds of flagstone and 18 cubic feet of pea gravel later, we got this---

I think that the new patio turned out great.  Here it is connected to our existing patio---We had this patio built about 9 years ago.  The landscaping is an ever evolving process.

My husband's new project is an assortment of air plants--"Tillandsia".  These are really neat.

  12. I love your addition to the patio with the Flagstone and pea pebbles, I was just searching the web for this idea and have a question for you. Did you just placed the flagstones in the ground or did you used any paver adhesive for those?
Thanks and congratulations you have a beautiful home!
