Orange-Lime Margaritas

I have something that I must confess, I am a margarita junkie!!
I love original, pomegranate, strawberry, mango......... the list goes on and on.
But, I think that if I have to choose a margarita (other than an original) I would choose an
 Orange-Lime Margarita.

It is really hard to express in words how good this margarita is...
it's sweet, tart, simple, but really complex.
All at the same time.

Definitely one of my favorite flavor combinations.

It is so refreshing on a hot Louisiana afternoon.
Just don't drink too many, they sneak up on you!!

I can't remember where I got this recipe, only that I am so thankful for it.
I think that some of my friends are too.
It is definitely a cocktail that I make often.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Orange-Lime Margaritas

1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup fresh lime juice
1 cup fresh orange juice (you can use tangerines, tangelos, oranges)
1 cup tequila
1/2 cup orange liqueur (Grand Marnier)
lime for garnish
coarse salt for rim of glass

Combine water and sugar.  Cook over medium heat until syrup forms (simple syrup).  This will yield 2 cups; takes about 10 minutes.  Set aside to cool.  Fill pitcher 1/2 full with ice.  Stir in lime juice, orange juice, simple syrup, and alcohol.  Pour into salted glasses and garnish with lime wedge.

Drink, repeat, enjoy!!
