Kitchen (Almost) Reveal

I have been a little blog neglectful lately, but I have been really, really busy.  In my last post, I told you how I was going to use Benjamin Moore's "Ambiance" everywhere and I really meant it.  This time, I used the color in my kitchen--LOVE!!!

We decided that our 10 year old kitchen needed a little sprucing up.  It has good bones, but was feeling a little neglected and dated.  Now, I would love to tear out walls and build my dream kitchen, but it is probably not going to happen in this house.

Here is my kitchen before

I don't think that the kitchen was that bad before.  I was just really, really tired of the paint color and really wanted to de-clutter.  I'm so glad that we made the choice and put in stainless appliances and granite 10 years ago.

And here it is now

We painted the accent wall Benjamin Moore's "Friar's Brown" (my favorite chocolate color) and all of the trim and cabinets are "Linen White", also by Benjamin Moore.  The island that we added is made of rustic birch.  The tile, which my husband and I installed ourselves, is honed travertine.  I'll post more on this project soon.

We are not completely finished, but I was really excited with the "almost" completed project and wanted to share.  I am still waiting on a plumber to come (next week hopefully) and install my new faucet

for my roman shade to arrive, made from this beautiful fabric

and for my new shutters to be installed on the side windows.  They look just like the shutters on the front window.

  3. I actually bought the material at a local fabric warehouse. I don't know who made it or the name of it, but I can try to find out. Thanks so much.
