Lime Margarita and a Margarita Round-Up

In honor of Cinco de Mayo,
I thought that it would be fun to break from the norm and share a margarita recipe today as well as a round-up of my favorite margarita recipes.

The margarita is my all-time favorite cocktail and
I love it in so many ways.
But, the classic margarita is probably one of the best.

Lime Margarita

2 ounces tequila
1/2 ounce Grand Marnier
1 ounce lime juice
1/4 ounce simple syrup
coarse salt
lime wedge

In a shaker with ice add tequila, Grand Marnier, lime juice, and simple syrup.  Shake until well combined.  Pour into a glass rimmed with lime juice and salt.  Garnish with a lime wedge.

(I used one of my new ice molds for the super-big ice cube--I love it.  It doesn't melt fast and dilute the drink.)

and now for the round-up...

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and enjoys a Margarita!!

  1. You're going to KILL me with your Thirsty Thursdays! Here I am trying to cut back on my alcohol consumption (because of the calories), and you're tempting me with my second favorite drink (the first is champagne). Help!

  2. These drinks that you make always appear so refreshing in the photos. Since I don't drink alcohol at all though I am left out in the cold. I am going to have to Google virgin margaritas for a recipe.
