I think I've finally narrowed it down and champagne or sparkling wine is my absolute favorite drink. I know in the past that I said I loved margaritas the most, but right now sparkling wine is my favorite.
Also, this cocktail is my new favorite.
I've had a French 75 dozens of times and I can say that I think my way is my favorite. Just the right amount of lemon juice, gin, St. Germain, and sparkling wine. It's so easy and super fancy.
Usually, a French 75 is made with gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and topped with champagne or sparkling wine. I decided to swap the St. Germain Elderflower liqueur for the simple syrup and the taste is just perfect. A little tart and a little sweet.
A perfect little cocktail if I do say so myself.
French 75
1 ½ ounces gin
¾ ounces Elderflower liqueur
¾ ounces freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 ounces champagne or sparkling wine
lemon twist to garnish
Add the gin, Elderflower liqueur, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and pour into chilled champagne glasses. Top each with champagne or sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Enjoy!
