Happy Hour-Blood Orange Martinis

I was so shocked when my husband came home from the grocery store a few nights ago with a bag of blood oranges.  He said "I thought that you would want these".  What a great surprise!  Heck yeah I wanted them.  I absolutely love blood oranges.  I thought we were way beyond their season, but who am I to complain.  When your husband gives you blood oranges, you make cocktails.  And I must say, this is a really good cocktail.

So a few nights ago, a few of my girlfriends joined me for cocktails on the patio and I decided that they would get a test run on this martini.  They loved it!!  We had so much fun making, drinking, and photographing this martini.  I'm very surprised that the photos aren't upside down.

This cocktail is sweet, tart, and fruity.  It’s so refreshing and absolutely perfect for a girls night on the patio.  Also, who wouldn’t want to drink a cocktail this beautiful.

1 ounce St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur

  1. Oh, I love, love, LOVE blood oranges! I have a recipe for b.o. mojitos, but ran out of the oranges :( Do you find them to be sweet enough? Or does the liqueur sweeten the drink up?

    1. Yum!! I bet a blood orange mojito would be fabulous!! I personally think they are sweet enough, but the St. Germain and Salerno are both pretty sweet. The Salerno would probably be great in a mojito.
