Happy Hour--Lotus Sangria

While in Mykonos, several of us ventured into Old Town for some shopping, lunch, and cocktails.  We stumbled, literally, into a lovely restaurant called Lotus.   They had some excellent food and delicious cocktails.

We decided on several -- Mykonos Spritz, Gimme A Kiss, and the Lotus Sangria.

The Lotus Sangria was definitely a standout.  It was tart and a little sweet.  The sangria was made with port wine and accented perfectly with almond syrup and several fruit juices.  Perfect for a hot summer day.

Lotus Sangria
(makes 6 servings)

1 bottle of port wine
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 cup Orgeat syrup
orange slices and pineapple leaves for garnish

Combine the wine, juices, and syrup in a pitcher.  Stir to combine.  Serve chilled and garnish with orange slices and pineapple leaves.

Hope you enjoy this little taste of Greece!
