Chocolate Dipped Figs with Sea Salt

Our fig tree has literally exploded with figs.  There are so many that the birds and I are freely sharing.  I can't even keep up with them all.  It's a good problem to have.

I made these figs for my husband's birthday celebration and they were definitely a hit. The recipe is embarrassingly easy.  I'm really only sharing this because they are just so dang good and so beautiful.

Yield: makes 2 dozen figs

Chocolate Dipped Figs with Sea Salt

A simple, delicious treat. Semi-sweet chocolate dipped figs sprinkled with sea salt.
prep time: 20 mins cook time: 3 mins total time: 23 mins

  • 24 fresh figs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt

  1. Wash and completely dry figs.  Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on medium power at 30-second intervals until completely melted (about 2-3 minutes). Dip each fig in the melted chocolate, covering about 2/3 of the fig.  Place on a wax paper lined baking sheet.  Sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt.  Once all figs have been dipped and sprinkled with sea salt, place in the refrigerator.  Keep refrigerated until prior to serving.  Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
