Tailgating Tuesdays--The Ultimate Sausage Dip

I first published this dip back in 2011, but because it is the perfect tailgating dip I thought that I would share it again (with a few new photos).  It is one of our favorite dips and every time I make it, I bring home a completely empty pan.  It really is so, so good.  If you are a fan of sausage and cheese, then this dip is for you.  This tailgating recipe is perfect for a large crowd because this dip is pretty rich between the cream cheese and sausage.  It's perfect with tortilla chips (or bean chips-if you are allergic to corn like me).

The Ultimate Sausage Dip

prep time: cook time: 20 mins total time: 20 mins

  • 2 16 oz. packages  breakfast sausage (I used one hot and one regular)
  • 1 8oz. package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 10 oz. can Rotel tomatoes, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  1. Preheat the oven to 350℉.
  2. In a large skillet cook the sausage. Drain and place back in the skillet.
  3. Add the cream cheese and Rotel tomatoes and mix well.
  4. Remove from heat and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Place in the oven and cook for approximately 15 minutes until bubbly.
