Fall Cheese Board

I think that I have discussed my love of cheese boards here before. I'm not really into a massive cheese board with so many random things on them that the flavors become a little lost.  I'm of the mindset to keep it simple.  Choose really good ingredients and items that really compliment each other and you've got a great cheese board.  It is really is such a perfect appetizer for easy entertaining.  No cooking, just a little slicing and there you go--a delicious snack for date night or girls night in.

The hubs and I had a date night in the other night and I decided to put together a fall inspired cheese board. I'm a big fan of sweet and salty on my cheese boards.  For this delicious spread, I used salty cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano and a delicious smoked cheddar, sweet honey goat cheese, truffled honey and a special sweet and savory cracker like these. The finishing touch was sliced sopresatta salami and sliced pears. This board was definitely fall inspired with the date and almond crackers, the sliced pears, and the delicious truffle honey.  Remember, keep it simple and you'll be very happy with the results.
