Tailgating Tuesdays--Hosting a Homemade Pizza Party

One of our favorite things to make is pizza on the grill, especially when we are watching an LSU game on the patio.  I always get together lots of toppings so that everyone can make the pizza of their choice.  It's so much fun and so delicious.

Spicy Italian Sausage, Pancetta, Sauteéd Spinach, Artichoke Hearts, Basil Pesto, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Pecorino-Romano Cheese, and Mozzarella Cheese
So whenever I make pizza I always start with this dough and this sauce. The dough makes the perfect thin crust and the sauce is a little spicy and delicious. I absolutely love to play around with all kinds of toppings and flavors, from spicy barbecue sauce to pineapple and pancetta. Each pizza cooks for around 7-9 minutes on a hot grill. Here are a few of the pizzas we made.

Shredded Chicken, Artichoke Hearts, Tomatoes, Sauteéd Spinach, Red Onions, and Fresh Mozzarella
Taco Pizza with Taco Meat, Tomato Pesto, Jalapeño Peppers, Sliced Black Olives, Black Beans, Shredded Monterrey Jack Cheese, Tomatoes, Avocado, and Sour Cream

BBQ Sauce, Shredded Chicken, Mushrooms, Red Onion, Jalapeño Peppers, and Mozzarella Cheese
Spicy Italian Sausage, Pancetta, Pineapples, and Mozzarella Cheese
You definitely should consider hosting a homemade pizza party the next time you are watching the big game. Gather up your favorite toppings and cheeses, make (or buy) some pizza dough and sauce and let everyone create their favorites.  You'll love it.

What are your favorite pizza toppings?
